Welcome to Kos Island, the jewel of the Dodecanese Islands in Greece. Founded in 366 BC, Kos Island is the third largest of the Dodecanese islands in Greece. Measuring 40 km by 8 km and located at a distance of a mere 4 km from the coast of Bodrum in the neighboring country of Turkey, the island has a population of 30,947.

The town’s 14th century fortress is at the entrance to its harbor, famously erected in 1315, by The Knights of Saint John of Rhodes.

The main villages of interest in Kos are Kardamena, Kefalos, Tigaki, Antimachia, Mastichari, Marmari and Pyli. Smaller villages of interest include Zia, Zipari, Platani, Lagoudi and Asfendiou.
